Microsoft Launch Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2

Microsoft today has revealed the new next generation of the current Surface Laptop Go. The new Surface Laptop Go 2 base configuration will be available for 50$ more expensive as it no longer uses a slow eMMC. The base model will have the new 11th Gen i5-1135G7 processor with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB SSD. Nothing changes for the display, it still has the same low-resolution 12.4-inch display with 148 PPI.

The Surface Laptop Go 2 will be available in a new Sage color in addition to the current three available colors including Platinum, Ice Blue, and Sandstone. Microsoft said the laptop will be 23% faster and quieter with the new processor and thermal design. It packs a slightly larger 41Wh battery that can handle typical device usage up to 13.5 hours for all-day battery life. Microsoft adds the new webcam comes with an improved 720p HD f2.0 camera for better video calling quality with more accurate skin tone.

The laptop will be available to pre-order starting today with a starting price of $599 for an Intel Core i5 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD. It is expected to start shipping on June 7, 2022, in the US.
