For Surface Pro 4, it supports up to 16GB 1866 MHz LPDDR3 memory. Like Surface Pro 7, it has an onboard memory module that is not upgradable by the users. Luckily, it has a single removable M.2 SSD slot that users can replace or upgrade when needed.
