Dell Precision 5760 vs. Dell Precision 5770: Which is better?

Dell has released the Precision 5760, a 17-inch machine, in mid-2021. It is powered by up to an octa-core Intel Xeon W-11955M with a boost clock speed up to 5.00 GHz. The laptop has a dedicated GPU option up to Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 with 6GB GDDR6.

On the other hand, we have the 17-inch Precision 5770 was introduced by Dell about a year later in early-2022. It comes with up to 14-core Intel Core i9-12900H with a boost clock speed up to 5.00 GHz. It has a dedicated GPU option up to Nvidia Quadro RTX A3000 with 12GB GDDR6.

Both Dell Precision 5760 and Dell Precision 5770 have the same 17-inch display size. In addition, they both have the same weight at 4.7 lbs. Moreover, measured at 14.74” x 9.77” x 0.51”, the Dell Precision 5760 share the same chassis as the Dell Precision 5770.

There are a toal number of 7 ports and slots available on Dell Precision 5760. That includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, a lock slot, a full-size SD card slot, and a headphone jack. With that said, it has the same number of ports and slots as the Dell Precision 5770 including four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a lock slot, a full-size SD card slot, and a headphone jack.

Moving over to upgradability, Dell claims that the Dell Precision 5760 supports up to 64GB 3200 MHz DDR4 ECC memory that you can upgrade with two memory module slots on the motherboard. It also comes with two M.2 slots that users can easily upgrade and install an additional SSD to expand the storage on the device.

For Dell Precision 5770, it supports up to 64GB 4799 MHz DDR5 memory that you can upgrade with two memory module slots on the motherboard. It also has two M.2 slots that users can easily swap or add an extra SSD to get extra space when needed.
